PIECES OF HOPE

2023 - Master Artist - Justine Pechuzal

This beautiful mural was designed to  celebrate hope, and so much more, as described in the artist's words,
""I chose to symbolize the idea of growth through the sun. Our wildflower season aligns with long summer daylight hours, and this design embodies that synchronicity. The sun travels across the sky in phases, reminiscent of a time-lapse photograph, with its zenith representing the solstice. This fragmentation of the sky resonates with the 'Pieces of Hope' theme, underlining light as a potent source of hope. The mural foregrounds three wildflowers: the resilient fireweed, the sturdy wild iris, and the emblematic forget-me-knot. Their symbolism ranges from resilience and strength to love and remembrance. I yearn for our community to perpetually revere the mission of SeaView and its beneficiaries. These blooms are framed by Seward's iconic trio: Bear Mountain, Mt. Marathon, and Mt. Benson, reminding us of nature's timeless beauty and constancy."
