The mural design is a collage of several students' drawings, compiled to depict Seward's natural habitat. It includes native plants of the area, the mountains, and the ocean. The project was funded by The School Yard Habitat Project (through Resurrection Bay Conservation Alliance), and The Kenai Mountains- Turnagain Arm National Heritage Area. The mural was dedicated by the students on Earth Day with water from Scheffler Creek.
