OBIHIRO FRIENDSHIP MURAL

2014 - Various Master Artists - Obihiro, Japan

This mural is a beautiful gift from Seward's Sister City, Obihiro Japan.  A group of talented Japanese artists and dignitaries travelled to Seward in the Summer of 2014, bringing their design  to be painted alongside Seward muralists.  This creation was part of a mural exchange; 7 of Seward's Muralists travelled to Obihiro in the fall of 2013 to paint our gift to them, "Friendship Across Water". Many of the same artists  from both countries worked together on both murals, further deepening the bonds between our two cities..

This design shows the beauty and diversity of resources on the island of Hokkaido, where Obihiro lies.
