APOLOGIES TO ROCKWELL KENT

2004 – Artists - Members of the Seward Mural Society
2012 - Repainted

This mural is a variation on a black and white image drawn by renowned artist and writer Rockwell Kent.   Kent visited Seward in the winter of 1918-19 and created many inspired images of his time on Fox Island in Resurrection Bay.
Something of an experiment, the quilt pattern was created with panels that were painted independently without the artists seeing each other’s work until their pieces were assembled.

Size - 8' x 8'
Location - East side of the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center on the public restroom.
